I began developing vitiligo on my penis and just under my knee cap of one leg when I was approximately 13 years old. I hadn’t obviously had any sexual encounters at such a young age so I knew it wasn’t from intercourse. Although when it first began the both areas on my penis and knee were very small vitiligo spots and not very noticeable so I thought that it was maybe caused from sun exposure, using different soaps or any number of things. In a short amount of time, the area on my penis spread and soon I had several white spots as well as darker brown spots around some of the vitiligo areas. I shared what was happening to me with my parents and they brought me in to see a doctor right away and I was diagnosed as having vitiligo.
Living with it has been more and more difficult as I am a single 41 year old man now and am very self conscious about it. I was married for and with the same woman for nearly ten years and she always stated that it didn’t bother her, after my divorce I was in a 5 year relationship with a woman who asked questions about it but after being told what it was she was fine with it.
Now unfortunately I am single again and it has gotten worse with more brown spots, I did have a skin biopsy taken and it came back as begin normal, so its not cancerous or anything, but nonetheless is looking more and more unattractive in my opinion and I’m very embarrassed about it. Is there any other new treatment, cover-up or even skin bleach that can be used to help make my penis one color. I would rather it be all white or all dark then to have my regular skin color mixed with brown spots and white vitiligo spots.

Bob,I’ve had vitiligo on my penis since 1995. I’m Latino, so my penis is naturally medium brown in color, but my vitiligo are white patches. It covers a 1/4 of my penis head, just under the rim, and small islands of white on my upper shaft near the head. I’ve been to a few doctors and there’s nothing that can be done. The funny thing is, the patches move around like small islands. I can take a photo of it now and in one year the patches have moved around. Strange. My doctor said it may get worse, go away, or never change. Mine seems to be staying. I’ve learned to live with it and accept it although it’s not a pretty penis. :(
