How do you do so?
Great question. The key to a flawless and true color match for your vitiligo is by first making sure your skin is rid of any dryness and dead skin. To do so is a really simple process called, Exfoliation.
What is Exfoliation?
Man you are just killing it at the questions! Exfoliation is the process in which you are remove the dead skin cell from the outer top later of the skin. This can be done by using many different exfoliants. Through, we are going to focus on the easiest and most cost friendly approach, physical exfoliating! Which can be done with an at home with a scrub that contains micro-beads, for example sugar, to smooth and refine the skin. As well as, a wash cloth/loofah that is used to loosen the glue-like substance which hold your dead skin together and makes the cells to be removed with ease.
Why is it import to exfoliate before applying Vitiligo Cover lotion?
By removing the top-most layer of skin, you’re making it easier for Vitiligo Cover lotion to sink deep below the surface where the DHA can really work to produce a color more inline with your natural skin tone! If your skin is riddled with dead cells, the cover lotion may not be able to penetrate deep into the skin. Dry and overly dead skin will cause the product to come out orange and blotchy.
So now that you know why exfoliating is super important! Let learn how to actually exfoliate and prepare for when the mailman drops off your lotion!
Step 1: Make exfoliate
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup solid (but soft) coconut oil
- Mix two together until it reaches a cookie dough texture
Step 2: In the shower apply the product gently using small, circular motions. Do this for about 30 seconds, and then rinse off with lukewarm. Caution: do not exfoliate if you have open cuts or wounds!
Step 3: Apply moisturizer to your body after shower. This will help to restore any moisture that may have been lost during the exfoliation process.
