In case you’re new to this site, you can visit the official Photomedex site to learn more about their XTRAC treatment for vitiligo.
Today I went in for my first treatment. It was such a simple process. I sat down, the dermatologist passed a lighted wand-like instrument over the vitiligo patches on my hands, elbows, and forehead, and that was it. All in all, it took about 15 minutes and other than a bit of warmth as the light touched my skin, I felt nothing.
The dermatologist asked if I had ever tried protopic. I hadn’t, so she gave me a sample to try on a little area of my foot to see how my skin responds.
It is evening now and the spots on my forehead and a few places on my hands already show a pinkish hue…a good start! My next appointment is this Friday.
