Friday, December 21st, was my second treatment. The whole process is so simple and painless. One really cool thing that the dermatologist showed me was when the light hits the skin, only the pigmented areas pick up the narrow band uvb rays. i could actually see a cross-sectioning of the light when she ran it along the border areas of the white patches. The great thing about this technology is that your already pigmented areas will not become darker due to exposure to the nbuvb ray. Too cool!

Today I went in for my first treatment. It was such a simple process. I sat down, the dermatologist passed a lighted wand-like instrument over the vitiligo patches on my hands, elbows, and forehead, and that was it. I talked to Linda from the dermatologist’s office today and we set up my appointment times for treatment. Based on the M.E.D. test results, she wants me to come in twice per week. I chose Tuesday’s and Friday’s so my treatments begin tomorrow.
I received an email today from a woman asking whether or not the XTRAC treatments are covered by insurance. It is covered by some companies.
I was contacted by a company who arranged for me to try the treatment and write about the results. I agreed to do it because if there is something out there that can re-pigment skin, I want to know about it and share that information with as many people as possible.
